Glendale's record breaker Tove Berg takes lead in the 1500 meter race which she won. Lili Hernandez finished second in a personal best time of 4:52.15, followed by college of the Canyons in third.

Distance runner Tove Berg has one of the best distance running coaches in Head Coach Eddie Lopez. He's taught her the art of pacing herself and relaxing during a race.

Leading the field in the 3000 meters, Tove Berg set another school record of 9:56.65 besting her record in the Riverside Invitational.

Lili Hernandez came in second in the 3000 meters in 10:45.52 and set a personal best time in the 1500 meters of 4:52.15 to capture second behind Tove Berg.

Competing in the Western State Conference Meet #3 were College of the Canyons, Oxnard and Cuesta College's and the Vaqueros of Glendale College.

Vaq Michael Flowers was second in the 800 meters in 2:00.05 and third in the 1500 meters in 4:08.02.

Glendale's Cecil Menifield finished third in the 400 meters in 50.67 and fourth in the long jump with a leap of 21 feet 3 1/2 inches.

The low hurdles are about to become high hurdles as track officials space them on the track.
