Glendale Coach Eddie Lopez - On a Beautiful Sunny Southern California Day he hosted track & field squads from Canyons, Santa Barbara & Santa Monica. He's got a new fan too!

And its the same group of guys I got to know so well at the scorers table of the basketball games. Now they're Timers at the Finish Line and as always they do an amazing job of keeping track of everything that happens. They gave us all our info too!

The Calm Before the Storm. Things look so peaceful as these volunteers set up the men's 110 meter hurdles.

That Calm was replaced by the fury of the Mens 110 meter race.

That's Glendale's Jumping Coach, Lee Balkin.

High Jump Specialist Ashley Baucham. She took first place in the event for Glendale College clearing a height of 5'2.

Ashley Baucham easily cleared the bar during one of her practice jumps.

Ashley Baucham - This young lady was the absolute picture of concentration as she prepared for her attempt at 5'2.

Ashley Baucham clears 5'2 to win the event for Glendale College. She would go on to make several attempts at a personal best height of 5'4.

The little sign in the bottom corner tells you the height of 5'4. And that's Ashley Baucham safely on the pad. But even though we can't see it. This bar is actually moving ever so slightly. A fraction of a second later it would come down denying Baucham a personal best jump.

Vivien Wadeck dominated both the 800m & 1500m runs on the day. That's Brenda Santana also of Glendale College behind Vivien. Brenda finished 3rd in the 1500m.

Vivien Wadeck just after she won the women's 1500m Run in a time of 4:49:60 ... Shouldn't she look tired? I was 10 feet away and she wasn't even breathing hard.

1500m team runs away - This is what the Glendale Women's 1500 meter team must look like to the competion. The Lady Vagueros swept the top 4 spots in the 1500.

That's Michael Flowers of Glendale College leading going into the last lap in the 1500m. You can see the problem for Michael here though as Canyons used 3 different runners to wear him down. That Canyon runner at the back of the picture had been in the lead for most of the race before allowing Flowers and his teammate to pass.

Here is the result of Canyons team strategy as Alfredo Coronado goes past Michael Flowers down the Stretch Run of the 1500m. Flowers finished 2nd.

Melani ArtounLivaskan wins 100m dash. It was like she shot out of gun. Melani led for the entire length of the race... it was her season best time of 12:55. Sorry about the photo being so far away. But she's that fast.

Here's a better picture. Melani Artoun-Livaskan After her win in the 100m dash. She rested for about 15 minutes and then came back and blew the competition away in the 200m as well.

The Start of Mens 800m Run. That's Wada Masachi, Michael Flowers, and Damion Fuentes of Glendale College in lane's 1, 2, & 3 respectively.

Coming into the stretch the Men's 800m was anybody's race. Here, Wada Masachi takes the lead with about 100m to go.

Wada Masachi kicked it into high gear at the end of the 800m and the only question left was ... who's going for 2nd? And as you can see here, that was also a Glendale College runner. Damion Fuentes who had his season best time of 1:58:79.

It was no illusion that the discuss looked like a frisbee while James Poet was practicing here. His throw of 137'7 was good enough for 1st place in the event and another victory for Glendale College.
