The Vaqueros doing their pre-game warmups before the Western State Conference game with College of the Canyons. The Vaqs were the winners in an extra inning game when substitute left fielder Freshman Brian Ward who had just gotten into the game and was the first batter in the bottom of the tenth took the first pitch and sent it over the center field fence some 380 feet away for a walk around homer that won the game for Glendale College, 7-6.

Glendale pitcher Navad Poringer who started for the Vaqueros against the Cougars about to deliver a strike. Poringer pitched eight and a half innings giving up four runs and seven hits. He struck out five Cougars before being relieved in the top of the ninth.

The Cougar pitcher releases the ball on its way to the strike zone. Andy Marquardt sees it coming, lines it up and crushes it to the right center field fence for a double that drove in three runs for the Vaqueros in the sixth inning. Marquardt later scored for a four run inning for Glendale.
