The Vaqs were the winners in an extra inning game when substitute left fielder Freshman Brian Ward who had just gotten into the game and was the first batter in the bottom of the tenth took the first pitch and sent it over the center field fence some 380 feet away for a walk around homer that won the game for Glendale College, 7-6.
