The Vaqs were the winners in an extra inning game when substitute left fielder Freshman Brian Ward who had just gotten into the game and was the first batter in the bottom of the tenth took the first pitch and sent it over the center field fence some 380 feet away for a walk around homer that won the game for Glendale College, 7-6.  Assistant Coach David Lopez about to send a ball to the outfield in the pre-game warmups for the Vaqueros in the St.Patricks day game against the College of the Canyon Cougars.   Glendale College catcher Ben Torrie at the plate for infield practice with Coach Cicuto doing the batting. Torrie has started 19 games for the Vaqueros and has a batting average of 338, second to team leader Brian Bistagne who is batting 409.   The Glendale College Vaqueros do a great number of different exercizes to limber up before a game. Note the left bridge, the double bridge, the bicycle, the lower back bridge,etc,etc.  The average athlete has full realization that unless your body is limber your not ready for a 100% effort in a ball game, especially staring from the zero position. 001_24.JPG
